Deansgate restaurant Las Iguanas has had a fun revamp and reopened on Manchester’s food scene. The South American eatery and cocktail bar brings a party atmosphere to casual dining which we had to experience first hand.
Stepping into the new Las Iguanas you are immediately hit with a vibrant display of neon lights on a faux-shrub wall. For the re-opening this was adorned with a balloons that brought further colour. Being welcomed in this way gives a holiday vibe instantly, think of a juxtaposing fun evening beach bar in an urban landscape.
The beach theme continues further on in the restauarnt with wooden and metal furnishings that easily achieve a ‘shabby chic’ look in a good way.
The bar is in the immediate area where you first arrive, which gives way to the restaurant tables and chairs further on. We spied some great 2 for 1 cocktail deals which would make this a great spot to start your night out, especially with so many other bars in the area to move onto afterwards.
The food menu gives plentiful choice if you’re out for dinner not drinks, taking inspiration from all over South America. There is a great range of both veggie and meat options to suit all tastes. Of course, there are plenty of spicy options for hot food lovers, but you have the option to water these down if spicy isn’t your bag. Small plates, like the halloumi fires, are an absolute must try. If you have a big appetite we’d suggest getting a proper meal too, the burgers alone are huge and won’t leave you going hungry.
