A slice of Manchester’s female creative force gathered at Harvey Nichols Manchester last night for the WICI Autumn Social. The ladies enjoyed beauty treats and AW12 make-up tips in the Beauty Hall, followed by creative chat over dinner in the Brasserie. Kept hydrated by a steady flow of fizz, the WICI ladies explored the beauty hall to discover the mini-treatments and beauty tips on offer. Specialists from over 20 different brands were on hand to offer complimentary makeovers, hand & arm massages, skin consultations and hair styling.
Guests were treated to mini-makeovers from the likes of Bobbi Brown, massages from Elemis and Chanel helped everyone find their ‘perfect red’ lip shade. Katy from ESPA demonstrated their Christmas range and gifted everyone with a compact mirror containing prize draw codes to win ESPA products and facials, which saw quite a few exciting looking parcels handed out! Many brands handed out free samples, as well as offering special gifts with any purchases made.
The beauty hall event ended with a raffle. Make-up artist and singer Joy Ononokpono won a beauty hamper, whilst Victoria Watson, owner of Doodle PR, had luck on her side winning a hamper from the foodmarket to add to the goodies she’d won in the ESPA prize draw!
Feeling glam and rejuvenated, the WICI ladies then headed upstairs to discover their goodie bags and enjoy some creative chat over a 3-course meal from the Brasserie Supper Club menu.
WICI was founded by Gemma Latham in 2010, with the intention to develop links, collaborations and support between female creatives in Manchester. Having recently launched in London too, what started out as a small group of friends, has steadily grown into a thriving community, now boasting over 350 members from industries such as fashion, music, television, radio, art, publishing, retail, advertising, PR and marketing.
WICI gatherings and events currently take place monthly in both Manchester and London, offering creative professionals an opportunity to socialise and share ideas away from the traditional networking scene.
