Leaving his cricket whites in the changing room, Lancashire CCC and England cricketer James Anderson has teamed up with bespoke athletic menswear producer Chess London to launch his first ever exclusive fashion collection and it is available now from www.chesslondon.com.He celebrated by hosting a celebrity party at Harvey Nichols in Manchester, last week and we were lucky enough to be on the guest list!
This unique collection features high quality smart casual menswear designed by James himself and created by Chess London’s tailors. It includes statement pieces style-conscious males will want to wear time and time again, including blazers, shirts, trousers, shorts, t-shirts and polo tops. On-trend bold checks, subtle spots and sexy suits prevail, and could be seen on the night modelled by Manchester United star Phil Jones and some of James’ Lancashire County Cricket Club team mates.
Famed for his fast bowling on the pitch, James says: “I have always been interested in fashion and have worn Chess London pieces since the brand launched a few years ago. Chess London designs clothes specifically for men with athletic frames. I have been heavily involved in the whole process, from initial sketches and compiling the mood board to designing each piece and editing the collection, which has been an incredible experience. The results are fantastic and I am so proud to have been part of this collaboration with Chess London.” James was also involved in modelling and shooting the images for his line. (And we have to say he did a very good job!)
Chess London director and Republic of Ireland International, Keith Andrews, says: “Teaming up with James to work on this collaboration has been great fun. He is a fashion-conscious male with an athletic build so perfectly fits the Chess London vision. With his ideas and our tailors, together we hit the ground running and created a collection that looks great. With interest mounting and quite a few advanced orders already, I am confident The James Anderson Collection will be a phenomenal success.”
