This Saturday 18th February Selfridges Trafford Centre is playing host to Community Clothing, a social enterprise venture with one clear aim; to restore the UK’s textile and manufacturing industries.
The Manchester fashion hotspot is obvious choice as a beacon of budding industry itself, as Selfridges maintains strong presence and innovative host to many new and established designers around Britain.
Community Clothing works by producing products in downtime, when large factories may be finding it difficult to sustain consistency within their workloads.
During the Saturday event a competition will take place, encouraging visitors to work to a brief, which will see them create a personalised design to print on a Community Clothing bag. From the entries, a winning bag will be chosen by Community Clothing’s owner Patrick Grant, the winner will then have opportunity to see their design created across a specially designed bag.
