A Day in the Life of Celeb Photographer Rachel Joseph

STYLEetc recently had time to catch up with Manchester based celebrity photographer Rachel Joseph at Mal Maison as she shot the images for Jeans for Genes 2014 campaign, with Hollyoaks star Gemma Merna and Corrie actress Catherine Tyldesley!  Jeans for Genes day will be held on Friday 19th September and this year the charity campaign has teamed up with the prestigious Edinburgh College of Art for the design of their official charity T-shirt. The T-Shirt will be available to buy online and features a one off design by young designer Rachel Hill.  The design was one of hundreds submitted via a competition open to Edinburgh College of Art students and features a double helix, which depicts the structure of a DNA molecule, combined with on trend SS14 pastel colours. Rachel’s design was selected as the winning design by an expert panel comprising of fashion experts and popular style icons including: Coleen Rooney, Jaime Winstone, Stylist Magazine Fashion Director, Alexandra Fullerton, and founder of the Scottish Fashion Awards, Tessa Hartmann. Following on from the success of her first ever catwalk at Manchester Fashion Week, we caught up with one of the models from the night, Maya Brzezinska, for an interview and insight to her life as a model. I came to the UK 7 years ago and absolutely love Manchester! How were you discovered? I sent my application to PHA Model & Casting Agency along with a few photos and they invited me for a test shoot. Then, they have asked me to come for model training and offered a contract! The atmosphere at the agency is very comfortable and you instantly feel that you belong there. What was your first modelling job? My first modelling job at PHA Model & Casting Agency was for Fashion Pony, an independent fashion boutique in Leeds. I had amazing experience and really enjoyed the shoot. I worked with an amazing team on a location shoot and absolutely loved it! Suzanne Neville Launches A/W Collection at Aston Martin

The centre of Wilmslow was all of a buzz this week as Suzanne Neville launched her A/W ‘14 collection and a selection of the haute couture evening wear at the showrooms of the prestigious Aston Martin on Water Lane. The evening was hosted by Gin and Jag events and began in a truly decadent manner with a vocal performance from operatic singer Carly Hopkinson. She wowed the audience before jetting off to Kuala Lumpur to sing for the King and Queen of Brunei! Guests also enjoyed the crisp fresh bubbles of Montelvini on arrival. Other brand partners at the event included A-plan Insurance and the Mozhgan Taheri Clinic, who were demonstrating the exclusive treatments and latest procedures available at her flagship clinic. Amongst those who attended the glamorous event were Coronation Street actress Samia Ghadie with Dancing on Ice star Sylvain Longchambon, Magali Gorre, Fay Campbell and stylist Martine Alexander. Aston Martin is famous for its style and elegance so was the perfect location to showcase the stunningly beautiful, chic and perfectly cut dresses! James Tindale Launches Clothing Line ‘Gods Gift’

Gods Gift Clothing sees Manchester designer and Each To Their Own Boutique owner, Alex Christopher, team up with Geordie Shore star James Tindale. We attended the launch of the new range on Wednesday 18th December at ETTO, along with many of James’ die hard fans, where we were treated to 15% off the new range, as well as a selection of drinks, including the healthy option, Vitamin Water, perfect for the gym! Even the champagne glasses were emblazoned with the Gods Gift logo!     The collection of versatile and fashionable gym wear bears James’ own logo and catchy slogans including, ‘Eat, Sleep, Lift, Repeat’ and ‘Live to Lift, Lift to Live.’   When speaking to James, he told us that the inspiration for the range came from his own interest in gym and fitness and wanting to create clothes that were comfortable, fit well and were durable. He also hopes that the range will be really popular in the summer, especially on the Ibiza club scene.   The fab new range is full of brightly colour vests, including cobalt blue and red, with the yellow one being James’ favourite. During the recent launch of the Selfridges Ice Rink, we were lucky enough to grab a quick chat with Coronation Street stars, Brooke Levi Vincent and Georgia May Foote, who play Sophie Webster and Katy Armstrong on the show! ‘Back to Life. . Back to Fashion’ Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B launches clothing range at Harvey Nichols

‘Back to life. . .back to reality. . ’ If you were to hear those lyrics you’d instantly recognise one of the biggest hits of 1989, from reggae, funk and RnB collective Soul II Soul. As well as creating club classics, Soul II Soul brought their own unique mix of style and fashion to the masses. ‘The Funki Dredd’ – a cartoon design by Derek Yates which became synonymous with Soul II Soul and club culture as a whole, is featured on a range of t-shirts and sweatshirts that form a limited edition Classics Collection, exclusive to Harvey Nichols. On Wednesday, Jazzie B – a cultural pioneer who helped define British black music and style, came to Manchester to launch the collection.
