When we first heard that a beauty salon was opening in Primark our initial thoughts were where and how? But after paying a visit, we wondered why nobody had done it before.
The new Love Beauty by Monika Mohindra (whose sister is the brow queen Shavata) has now launched into selected Primark stores in Liverpool, Manchester and Dublin and will be the go-to beauty destination for the cost and time conscious people among us.
The menu includes professional brow shaping, threading and tinting services. The list covers classic and quick fix treatments such as luxury and mini manicures and lash extensions, alongside innovative, quirky and on trend nail and lash services. Love Beauty hopes to become the destination to indulge in expert treatments at affordable prices, where clients will gain the beauty know-how they need to maintain healthy nails and brows for decades to come. This is something we valued as it showed the brand is there to educate and not afraid to arm you with skills to manage your own regiment.
We sat down with our therapist Khara in the modern and bright beauty bar on the first floor., giving us a glimpse at the layout. Considering the salon is situated in one of the busiest stores in Manchester, it feels like you’ve entered a quiet zone once you step over the threshold. It can be viewed as a safe haven from the chaos that the Primark store invites, maybe customers will pop in to escape the city centre hustle and bustle?
For review, our writer opted for a French Manicure for a very purse-friendly £8. The quick treatment looked great upon completion and they have a table of dryers so you can leave with smudge-free nails before heading back to the office. As nail drying can be the bane of your life (definitely for us) this was a considerate touch to save time and effort for customers. Gel nails and acrylics are £22 each, with brow shaping is just £5. The costs are really a bargain when you consider the staff have been trained to Monika’s high standard and work to such a professional level.
With these high standards, Monika has said that “this is why Primark felt like the right place to launch as both our brands offer style and unparalleled value to women who desire accessible expertise.” She certainly picked the right market, especially wisely choosing a large department store to set up shop in and target high footfall.
There are also plans to launch abeauty line in the new year for Primark.
Next time you’re in a rush and need your nails or lashes done for the weekend, head to Primark for an affordable and timley makeover done to a good standard that will keep you coming back. They do accept walk ins but at weekends its best to book in advance to secure a spot on 0777 533 4144.
