When Dalmore Met Rosso

October 1, 2015

At Style Etc. we don’t like to have favourites but as far as restaurants go well, Rosso  in Manchester is way up there. So, when they  invited us ’round for a whiskey tasting of Dalmores famous Whiskey we knew we would be in for a treat. Sampling six distinctly different types of single malt whiskey’s, ranging from 15 years all the way to 45 years aged.

The Dalmore whiskey has been around since 1839 created in Scotland, changing hands from great grandfather to current representative Master Distiller Richard Paterson.
The Dalmore Collection houses some of the rarest and oldest single malts in the world and for the first time, it will be bringing The Dalmore 1978 to Manchester – exclusively to Rosso. The Dalmore ’78 also coincides with the year restaurant owner and Manchester United Legend Rio Ferdinand was born.

The 1978 has notes of almonds, peach and pear swirled into a rich mahogany gold. It is part of The Constellation Collection, a stunning family of 21 individual expressions – crafted at The Dalmore distillery between the years of 1964 and 1992. They have spent their lives finessing in the finest casks around the world before being bottled at natural cask strength and colour.
