Soap stars, super stylists, and Manchester’s media entered an exotic tropical disco at the Kraak gallery last night to celebrate the re-launch and 1st (RCNQ) hair workshop.
Formerly known as Adee Phelan, RCNQ is a unique and innovative hair workshop situated on Hilton St in the heart of Manchester’s uber hip, bohemian Northern Quarter district. The salon offers a variety of new services including: Brazilian Blow Dry, Wet Shaving and Great Lengths Hair Extensions and each piece of furniture in there tells a story, for example the reception desk was a 21st birthday present to Rob from his mum!
The quirky gallery space on Stevenson Square was transformed into a tropical palm paradise adorned in flamboyant floral artistry with beautiful bright banana plants, white roses and pink flamingos.
Emmerdale star and RCNQ client Roxanne Pallett was blown away by the tropical island theme:
“The gallery looks amazing, I love the palms and flamingos! Rob always does my hair for me and I love him so it’s great to come along to support him and celebrate RCNQ’s first Birthday!”
During the night guests explored an artistic showcase of RCNQ’s crafty hairstyle creations in a ‘year in the life’ exhibition. They then danced to an eclectic 80s pop soundtrack and nibbled on fluorescent neon glitter cupcakes. There was even an exotic photo booth backdrop where guests could strike a pose alongside the tropical party props.
The workshop’s owner, Rob Czlapka, who is currently working on the creative visuals for Paolo Nutini’s UK tour, expressed his excitement over the success of the re-launch:
“Tonight has been absolutely amazing, we’ve had a great turn out and the venue looks incredible. It’s great to be able to showcase our artistic talents and show the city what we can do as a creative team! All the hard work we’ve put into the last 12 months is really starting to pay off and tonight’s event has been truly inspiring, it makes us want to work even harder on what we can bring back into the workshop.”
