Manchester’s legendary bar, Hold Fast, is back in business after closing its doors in 2019. The bar, which is located under a former bowler hat factory on Newton Street in the lively and colourful Northern Quarter, has a nautical theme that draws inspiration from the stories of Jules Verne, the author of classics such as Around The World in Eighty Days and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.
Hold Fast is the latest addition to the Northern Quarter’s portfolio of Selina-managed venues, joining Wilson’s Social, The Corner Boy, Wilson’s Den and Creatures Comedy Club. The bar features its own custom-made secret cinema room where guests can unwind and watch a cult classic, as well as a variety of retro Sega games, guaranteed to bring back nostalgic memories. Hold Fast also hosts resident DJ’s and open mic nights, and rewards those who dare to perform with a free drink of their choice.
Step into this seafarer’s drinking den, illuminated by ship lanterns and candles, and enjoy a pint from the extensive range of craft beers, or one of the 15 delicious cocktails on offer in this distinctive Northern Quarter spot. Hold Fast is set to reopen on 29th November, and will soon reclaim its status as one of Manchester’s best hidden gems.
