Unleash your inner child and get active with Manchester’s latest addition to activity centres; KICKair. Including a trampoline park, obstacle courses and kids play ground, there will be plenty to keep the whole family busy.
As with any new venture in Manchester, we felt obliged to go see what the fuss was about for ourselves and weren’t left disappointed. Arriving at 10am, we were greeted at the desk and told to store belongings in the accommodating lockers, along with shoes which are banned from the activities and replaced with specialist gripped socks.
Inside KICKair
Inside the centre is open plan, utilising it’s past warehouse design to house all items spaciously. The trampolines take up a vast quantity of space, offering high bounce styles for more confident bouncers along with basic square ones to hop about.
The rest of the activities offer something of a hybrid between Ninja Warrior and Total Wipeout (we have previously reviewed similar venue Total Ninja for those wanting to compare). Big padded beams rotate for players to jump over and duck under, a good one for teams and groups to participate in to get to last person standing.
Some more challenging obstacles are also offered, in an assault course style route set to test your upper body strength through hanging, climbing and swinging hindrances.
There is also a sports section, complete with robot football keeper, who proves tricky to score past, along with a giant velcro dartboard which gives chance to pelt footballs at and hit the target. There is even football snooker tables if you fancy crossing sports together for a laugh.
The kids section is made up of tunnels, slides and usual soft play appliances and is not admittable by adults. A canteen area is also available, with set cafe menu. The menu includes both hot food, snacks and desserts, the ice cream in particular caught our eye and is worth a try if you aren’t too nauseous from all the jumping around.
