We are massive fans of party hotspot Neighbourhood for their great cocktails and atmosphere but now we have another reason to spend our weekends in there thanks to its fabulous Sunday Roast menu.
Since launching at the end of last year, the roast has seen people return and again to samples its four dishes; Half a Salt Roasted Chicken, Roast Sirloin of Beef, Slow Braised Shoulder of Lamb and vegetarian option Beef Tomato with Puy Lentils. We were lucky enough to try out all four and we were so full after it that we didn’t eat anything else all day!
First up, Half a Salt Roasted Chicken with potato and celeriac gateaux, truffled cauliflower and blue cheese, carrot and celeriac puree, spring cabbage, beef fat roast potatoes and tarragon sauce. Our chicken was succulent and for someone who is used to a chocolate gateaux rather than a celeriac one, I was pleasantly surprised! Its a great accompaniment to this dish, and is also served with the vegetarians option.
Half Salt Roasted Chicken, £15
The Roast Sirloin of Beef is served medium with beef fat roast potatoes, mash, carrot and swede puree, spring cabbage, the biggest Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever seen and a delicious red wine jus to pour as you please. If you’re a beef fan, then you will definitely love this roast!
Roast Sirloin of Beef, £16.50
My favourite was the slow braised Shoulder of Lamb; a tasty shoulder of lamb with beef fat roast potatoes, mash, carrot and swede puree and spring cabbage accompanied with lamb jus to compliment the dish. Our lovely waitress told us that the Lamb is marinated in salt, pepper and mint before falling off the bone and on to our plates.
Slow Braised Shoulder of Lamb, £15
The veggie option has everything you need to satisfy everything you need from a roast; with Beef Tomato and Puy Lentils, served with root vegetables in a balsamic butter, potato and celeriac gateaux, truffled cauliflower and blue cheese, carrot and celeriac puree, spring cabbage, topped off with garlic and thyme roasted potatoes. The mash and roast potatoes were some of the nicest I’ve eaten (after my mums of course!) and it makes for a great afternoon with the family.
Beef Tomato with Puy Lentils (V) £12.50
Truffled Cauliflower & Blue Cheese (served with the chicken and vegetarian options)
There is also the option to upgrade to a full chicken or a beef roast sharing plate for £15 per person.
Make sure you check them out next Sunday from midday and give yourself a time out from doing the dreaded post-roast dishes!
