Another great artist adds their name to the bill of greats who have donned the Manchester Arena as Shawn Mendes announces Illuminate World Tour, stopping off in our favourite Northern City.
Set to take to the stage on Friday 28th April, Mendes’ tour is named after his upcoming album Illuminate (Virgin EMI UK Records), due September this year. The album will feature radio hit ‘Treat You Better’ which has become a firm favourite amongst fans, following up his first number 1 hit ‘Stitches’.
Mendes has since released three additional tracks from Illuminate including; ‘Mercy’, ‘Ruin and ‘Three Empty Words’ available now when pre-ordering the album.
Tickets for the show have already gone on sale and can be purchased from AEG or Marshall Arts (subject to availability).
The Illuminate tour will cover 44 dates across Europe and North America, continuing through until August 2017 with more dates to be announced. All tour info can be found on the Shawn Mendes website. Following the success of his debut album, Shawn has certainly been busy, recently returning from a prior sold-out world tour for Handwritten.
Of the new tour, Shawn said:
“I’m so excited for the Illuminate World Tour and to head to the UK for shows there. The British fans have been so supportive and this will be my first time headlining in Scotland and Manchester, as well as the O2 in London. I can’t wait!”
Still fresh into his career, Shawn has already scooped a People’s Choice Award, named on Forbes magazines ’30 under 30′ list and been listed as one of Time magazine’s ‘Most influential teens’ of 2014. Hit ‘Treat You Better’ was also certified platinum and reached the Top 10 of US Billboard Hot 100. Not bad for an 18 year old.
