A new tea room is coming to Manchester with the arrival of Leckenby’s on King Street West.
Building on the success of the award winning Leckenby’s in Bury, which has established itself as a prestigious tea room and eaterie over the past 12 years, the Manchester venue is now open. Catering for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it is Leckenby’s Champagne afternoon tea that is expected to become the signature offering.
There’s also a special ice cream bar, with unique flavours developed by local ice cream makers Cheshire Farm Ice Cream. The prestigious Slattery’s of Whitefield are also involved and their stunningly decorated, tasty cakes will also be a feature within Leckenby’s.
The tea room has been brought to the city by the Prestwich based Hymanson family; Mike, Sherry, Barry and Howard, who have franchised the Manchester venue based on the success of the original Bury Leckenby’s offering, formerly known as Chocoholics. Together they have invested in the design and development of Leckenby’s as well as creating more than 30 jobs.
Speaking of the launch Mike said: “We are thrilled to introduce this concept to the city. The existing tea rooms in Bury gives great gravitas to the Leckenby’s brand and we know our fusion of a good menu and vibrant atmosphere means it will transfer seamlessly to the city centre.”
Added Howard Hymanson: “Our vision is that this will fast become a classy home from home for people in the city centre. We can’t wait to open the doors and welcome the city in.”
I know where STYLEetc will be enjoying some afternoon tea!
