Always wanting to try new places, STYLEetc visited Elixir on Deansgate last week to try out their new cocktail menu, along with Hollyoaks stars Kieron Richardson, Jorgie Porter and Stephanie Waring, as well as Waterloo Road star Roxanne Pallett.
Parked outside the bar was a vintage VW Sharchaser campervan, where guests were able to pose for pictures inside and adorn themselves with daisy chains. Forget the red carpet, Elixir had its very own green grass carpet with daises and candles leading the way into the a garden of earthly delights!
We were treated to Forget-Me-Not cocktails; a mixture of floral violet liqueur, lavender syrup, cranberry & lemon juice accompanied by a chilled Prosecco miniature, as well as the Flutter Bye. This cocktail is inspired by butterflies and presented on its own summer garden with edible mini beasts, while the drink itself consists of Stolichnava citrus vodka, elderflower and rose liqueur, egg white and apple juice.
Forget Me Not, £10.50
Flutter Bye £8
And for the gin lovers of Manchester, there is the cascading dry ice creation Jasmine Cascade; a gin based cocktail with green chartreuse, Jasmine syrup, lemon, apple & a sprig of rosemary.
Jasmine Cascade, £8.50
If you’re out with friends, be sure to try out these fab birdcage cocktails! You can choose 2 drinks from the list which will come displayed on this amazing centre piece with 8 drinks!
La Petite Voliere ‘The Little Birdcage’ £40
Elixir’s owners, Bolton based Jess & Dan Purnell, shared their excitement about the success of their summer launch, saying “The response to the new cocktails has been fantastic. We wanted to create something people would talk about and enjoy. For us the experience is everything and with the Garden of Earthly Delights menu you can get all the twists you desire. “
As the party went on, guests joined in with a game of “truth or dare” which features a tree of reactive shots and tantalising questions to answer!
This was the first the time we had visited Elixir so we took ourselves on a tour of the bar which included its downstairs basement space known as the “Treatment Room” with a private entrance that can be hired out for private parties, events and corporate functions. The “Treatment Room” made its first official opening in February with a private birthday party featuring VIP guests such as Coleen Rooney!
So next time you’re out with your friends, or even looking for a unique place for a date, head to Elixir on Deansgate and enter the garden of delights!
