Aspiring bakers and cake lovers alike turned out in full force for last weekends enduringly popular Cake and Bake Show, taking place at Event City alongside neighbouring event the Ideal Home Show.
A tasty market full of vendors angling for your attention, the Cake and Bake Show offered dozens of stalls to suit all your food preparation needs. Covering not just the sweet stuff, the Show also caters to savoury dishes, showcasing pans, tools, cookers and general time saving device hacks to make your kitchen experience all the easier.
Sweets naturally played a big role in the event with pick ‘n’ mix selections adorning the outer stalls and cakes, buns or brownies brandishing every other table. A whole section was specifically allocated to host the amateur Cake and Cupcake competition, giving room for bystanders to walk by and take in the 2016 entries, of which queues formed to catch a glimpse of.
Industry celebrities attracted a lot of attention, with a couple of this years Great British Bake Off finalists making an appearance, with winner Candice Brown hosting her own segment and doing a meet and greet for fans. Candice’s newly found fame seemed rife as crowds were security managed to ensure order in meeting the GBBO star. Celebrity superchef Rosemary Shruger also hosted a slot on the show stage, capturing an audience for her cookign delights.
