MANCHESTER EMPTIES LINGERIE DRAWS FOR CHARITY
Women of Manchester have given up their smalls to make a large impact on stillbirth research. Women from the city have teamed up with Bravissimo and donated an incredible 1,500 bras at the Corn Exchange. And those Double D’s have been turned into cold, hard cash by Manchester’s bigger boob retailer, Bravissimo, which has raised £250 for the charity, Tommy’s, which funds research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.
Since the scheme launched in 2011, hundreds of customers have donated carrier bags full of old bras, and the ladies of Manchester have donated 250kg worth of lingerie.
Kelly Lyne, Bravissimo Manchester store manager, said:
“Our customers are really embracing this idea and it’s a great way of helping great causes without having to spend any money. Tommy’s charity strikes a chord in both our staff and customers hearts so we really wanted to help raise money for this worthwhile cause.
“We hope we can get even more women of Manchester on board to reach our target of 300kg by the end of September.”
