Burger and Lobster is quickly becoming everyones favourite dining spot since it opened in August. Based on the same winning formula as its London eateries, Burger & Lobster is aiming to take the city by storm with the offer of its simple yet unique dining experience that often sees Londoners queuing around corners to eat.
Situated just off King Street, the new 200-cover restaurant is housed within the stunning art-deco exteriors of Ship Canal House and will restore the interior of the once-tired dingy office space, to its former glory and into the coolest dining haunt in town!
The restaurant is complete with the biggest lobster tanks in the North West and edgy local artwork, which adds to the edgy vibe of the eatery. The interior comprises of tall ceilings, brick walls and bare light bulbs, as well as wooden tables and a private dining area surrounded by lobster cages, perfect for big groups and work night outs!
We tucked into the burgers which can be cooked medium or well done depending on your taste. They come with a good size portion of fries and home made coleslaw to top everything off. We also tried the Lobster Mac and Cheese which was great for those who don’t want the challenge of hacking into a lobster! The massive 10oz burger, whole lobster or lobster roll, all come served with chips & fresh salad and are priced at £20. You can also get your claws on big boys or jumbo lobsters, which are sold by weight and are perfect for sharing.
The lunch time menu include the lobster roll and a smaller version of their evening burger making it perfect for a light bite in the afternoon. Choose from a 6oz baby burger or one of the smaller lobsters with one side for just £12.
Using only the freshest and finest ingredients for customers, all the burgers are made using corn-fed Nebraskan beef using three cuts of prime steak containing natural marbling for the juiciest flavour. (We can vouch for that!) The restaurant’s wild lobster is flown in alive from the Atlantic Ocean to its dedicated tank at Heathrow Airport. It is then delivered daily to its restaurant where they are kept in their large tanks for you to pick your own tasty meal!
The restaurant also includes a cocktail bar with space for 30 guests so you can sample their menu whilst waiting for a table at the busy weekend rush!
While we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we did have a few niggles. In the day of healthy living, there is no gluten free bread option for the burger. There is also no vegetarian option which would make a team night out for the office very difficult! That aside, we would recommend Burger and Lobster for a relaxed meal with friends or a quick lunch time treat.
