Hilton Manchester Deansgate Hotel introduces it’s new heritage-inspired autumn/winter cocktail menu. Taking some of Manchester’s most historic moments and transcending them into some of Manchester’s most tasty cocktails is quite the way to pay homage. Five new cocktails will be added to the Cloud 23 menu, including some traditional favorites, like the Harvey Wallbanger, although developed in LA, it was made popular in Manchester’s Ancoats area.
The modern version mixes Ketel One Vodka and Galliano Sweet Herbal liqueur, served on an Orange flavoured block of ice.
The Cornetto di Cloud has been developed at the Hilton’s high-rise Cloud 23 bar. It’s a tribute to Antonio Valvona, the man who created the ice cream cone, also in Ancoats. Based on an indulgent ice cream cocktail, it contains Belvedere Black Raspberry, Cassis, Raspberry, Vanilla cream finished with tiny rainbow sprinkles. If you’re feeling for a bit of a dessert after dinner this is the perfect cocktail for you.
The Mission to Manchester cocktail pays homage to a time when Manchester’s Albert Square was the scene of adornment and fanfare. In August 1872 as the Lord Mayor welcomed the Iwakura Mission from Japan; which formed the framework of Japan’s modern day industrial success, traveling around the world for ideas and inspiration, Manchester was a particular highlight due to the city’s wealth of industrial heritage. This cocktail features Hendricks Gin, Sake, Genmaicha Tea Syrup, Yuzu and Rose Water. A very clean and crisp drink perfect paired with appetizers.
The 7’s Club nods to the significance of the No7 jersey worn by Manchester United legends. Now the Hilton’s own No.7 will live up to the great names such as Best, Cantona, Beckham and Ronaldo, that have wore the shirt over the years in this famous footballing city. This cocktail features David Beckham’s own whiskey Haig Club, Dubbonet, Rosemary & Demerara syrup, Walnut and a miniature football pitch. A drink dedicated to the men, but surely can be enjoyed by the women also.
Cloud 23’s ‘High’light is the Stratospheric cocktail paying homage to Manchester’s tallest building -the Beetham Tower. Possibly the tallest cocktail in Britain, it stands tall at nearly 3 feet and makes you feel like your right up there in the clouds as the building it’s served in. Mixed with Ciroc Red Berry & Tanqueray 10, Hibiscus, Raspberry, Passion Fruit, Citrus and topped with Champagne, this show-stopping cocktail tastes just as good as it looks.
All cocktails are served nightly at The Hilton’s Cloud 23.
