The surprise TV show hit of the summer, ITV2’s Love Island has become the talk of the nation over the past few months; with the show following the islanders falling in and out of love in a luxe villa situated on the island of Majorca.
Even with the show coming to a dramatic conclusion- seeing winning couple Kem and Amber scooping the £50,000 prize, it looks like Love Island is still very much our type on paper, as flight booking site, Kiwi.com has revealed searches for the Love Island filming destination surged by 60% during the finale.
It looks like us Brits can’t get enough of Love Island, with flight searches to the Spanish retreat from the UK already having increased by almost a third since the show began airing.
Alison Couper from Kiwi.com said, “Now that the British public can no longer watch the romantic exploits of those on Love Island it’s clear we’re hunting for our own romantic holiday. The show may have taken the nation by storm, yet it is clear the TV phenomenon has had a lasting impact on our summer holiday decisions!”
Return flights to Majorca over the rest of the summer start from as low as £57, so it’s the perfect excuse to top up your tan and get grafting; you never know, you might find your very own Chris or Marcel.
