Last Saturday we popped along to the Smile Stylist clinic to find out more about how to get the perfect smile.
The clinic, which is on the first floor of House of Fraser in Manchester city centre, offers a range of affordable and natural-looking cosmetic dental treatment options, including veneers and lumineers, dental bridges and crowns, dental implants, orthodontic treatment, teeth whitening and oral health.
But there is one service in particular which really stands out in the perfect smile stakes. Smile Stylist’s owner and principal dentist, Dr Sandeep Kumar, is not only a highly qualified dental surgeon but also one of the UK’s only Invisalign Diamond elite dentists.
Invisalign is an incredible brace system which is invisible, removable and comfortable. Instead of the traditional metal brace, Invisalign treatment consists of a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth and works to straighten your teeth gradually, millimetre by millimetre, over a set period of time, until they reach the final position prescribed by your dental practitioner.
Invisalign is the perfect alternative for anyone worried about wearing visible braces and the impact this may have on their self-confidence or, even, their daily profession. Unsurprising, then, that the clinic has quite a few celebrities on its patient list. Coronation Street beauty Catherine Tyldesley was in attendance to show her support for the man behind her radiant smile.
Catherine said: “Sandeep has been amazing – he’s helped me get the smile I wanted without having to worry about disrupting my work schedule. I’m just here today to say thanks”.
Sandeep said, “People don’t realise that there are options out there to get the perfect smile that don’t involve metal braces and we’re here today to spread the word. Catherine was a model patient of course and it’s been a genuine pleasure to help her get the look she wanted.”
We asked Catherine a few quick questions about beauty, style, and the things that put a smile on her face.
How important is your smile to your overall beauty regime?
My smile is massively important – it’s one of the first things you notice about a person.
What five things couldn’t you live without from your make-up bag?
The five things in my make-up bag I couldn’t live without are: Touche Éclat, Bronzer, Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial, my Artdeco Dita Von Teese red lipstick, and Guerlain Mascara.
What’s your top beauty tip?
My top beauty tip is good nutrition and plenty of water. Work starts on the inside!
Have you decided what you’re wearing for the Soap Awards being held in Manchester?
I’m wearing a beautiful James Stewart gown to the Soap Awards
What’s in your shopping bag?
In my shopping bag at the moment, I’m obsessed with bright heels. Topshop have some fab suede bright court shoes. I’ve accidentally just bought them in every colour – oops! Also Boohoo jumpsuits are rockin’ this season!
What’s making you smile at the moment?
My best friend Peter always makes me smile even when I’m tired and moody.
Where is your happiest place in Manchester?
I love Manchester, so as long as my family and friends are with me anywhere is great.
