I know many of you will quiver at the thought of Christmas being mentioned so early but trust me, it’s nothing compared to how far in advance Harrods have been planning for! Their buyer started planning for this year in October 2013!
We were invited to their Christmas in July event (in July obviously) to discover what the world famous, luxury department store had up its sleeve for Christmas 2014. Entering the tasting rooms was like walking into a winter wonderland! Its five main themes laid out in exquisite fashion!
Firstly, Hideaway which has a Scandinavian feel, featuring soft silvers and cashmere accessories, as well as furs and wood. Second is Balmoral which combines the traditional and contemporary with pale blue tones of Wedgwood and limited edition pieces. The Magical Forest is the third theme and draws inspiration from wildlife, with sequin adorned butterfly decorations and embellished baubles strung with luxurious velvet ribbon, leaving you feeling like you have wandered in to Alice in Wonderland! Hyper-Luxe is super-glamorous and decadent, drawing on the opulent grandeur of imperial Russia and the reds and greens leave it feeling like a more traditional Christmas; and finally Ice Princess is a whimsical and magical story of beaded snowflakes, diamond- drop baubles and crystal-adorned stockings, with a nod to the popular Disney film Frozen.
Here are a few of our favourite pieces with are available from Harrods and online from the end of August.
