On the 10th of July Charity Dress for Success Manchester officially opened it’s doors to the press and the red ribbon was cut to signal the official arrival of the charity helping women back into work. They launched in style, making a toast to the success they have had so far.
In just over a month in operation the charity has helped over 30 women through providing professional workwear and interview coaching from expert consultants and stylists. All this is given free of charge to women on low incomes who have been out of work for 6 months or more.
After having the camera crew in from Granada reports to feature a successful job seeker who had been to Dress for Success Manchester – Jessica McCann – there was even more to celebrate. (see the vid here)
The launch event saw supporters and socialites arrive in style and with bags of enthusiasm for the cause. Guests included Manchester’s finest and kindest from big corporate businesses, as well as some fantastic individual entrepreneurs, fashion bloggers and local press. The launch was hosted in the charities boutique, which is usually a haven of calm reserved for clients only! (see below)
But for the launch the space was filled with people who were welcomed in to get a feel of what the charity does. Whether browsing the rails of donated clothing and talking outfits, engaging with the Dress for Success team or looking at the compilation book of style transformations, all came away with a sense of why this support offered to women is so valuable.
Dress for Success Manchester’s founder and CEO Anna-Louise Gilhooley addressed guests at the launch:
