The Lancaster London Hotel has devised a special afternoon tea menu for those who know their Monet from their Picasso. Launching on Thursday 14th July 2016, the 4 star London hotel will be the host of the ‘ARTea’ afternoon tea experience, which will present delectable bites and bubbly with artistic flair.
The innovative afternoon tea will be served to guests in The Lounge Bar alongside the work of emerging and local artists – in celebration of the Lancaster London’s affinity with the capital city’s thriving art scene.
The impressive ARTea afternoon tea spread is a sight to behold. With an eclectic twist, reminiscent of a scene from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, the menu itself will be edible, as will the canvasses within the afternoon tea. Dishes will be served to tables in painters boxes, which will reveal a delectable take on an artist’s painting essentials. The sweet and savoury treats on offer will include delicate finger sandwiches, pastries and freshly baked scones; all of which will be served on painting slates alongside paint tubes containing delicious jam and clotted cream. Guests will be served their afternoon tea package by waiters dressed in whimsical painting aprons.
The ARTea experience will be topped off with a glass or two of Pommery Champagne, who have partnered with the Lancaster London Hotel to bring this unique event to life. Pommery Champagne was chosen due to their constant involvement and support of art and culture – from sponsoring Frieze Art & Art 16, to hosting an all year exhibition in their cellar in Champagne, France.
The hotel’s current art exhibition displays distinctive scenic paintings by modernist Irish artist Norman Teeling. The ARTea experience will feature continuous reminders of his work, with menus printed alongside replicated paintings from the exhibition. Mini edible images of Norman Teeling’s art will also be printed onto the creative ARTea pastries.
The hotel also works closely with art curator Barbara Stanley, whose gallery showcases contemporary Irish artwork and sits across the street from the hotel.
A proudly distinct establishment, the Lancaster London Hotel delivers world-class hospitality with unrivalled panoramic views of the city’s skyline. With prices starting from £35, whatever the occasion may be, the ARTea afternoon tea experience is one not to miss this summer.
