Clarins is one of our go-to skin care brands for all our daily face care needs but now it can be yours for holiday skin care too.
They have developed a bespoke suncare prescription to ensure you are protected by its UVA and UVB filters, in a range from SPF 15 right through to 50+, as well a range specifically for children.
The Clarins face range contains four products designed especially for the face to ensure that the protection goes deep-down into the skin with amazing texture and transparency. The Sun Control Stick is great for sun-sensitive areas such as the nose and cheek bones, while the creams have added anti-wrinkle protection. I used it on my two week’s holiday in Mexico and apart from my freckles coming out, it prevent my face from burning! I even used it on my hair parting to prevent it burning which I also found effective. It smells lovely and only needs rubbing in slightly. However, due to the heat, the writing on the stick melted off!
L-R Sun Control Stick, £17.50, Sun Wrinkle Control Cream, £19.50
The body range is made up of seven products ranging from oils, to milk-lotions and cream and has the broadest and most seductive choice of textures and the most efficient sun protection factors yet. While the price points maybe higher than the drug-store alternatives, but Head of Research and Development Dr Natalie Issachar points out, ‘There is no such thing as deep-down, cheap sun protection. Sun protection is the most complex, sophisticated and expensive field of skin care development because mistakes could result in serious damage.’
L-R Sun Care Oil Free Lotion Spray, £19.50, Sun Care Milk-Lotion, £19.50, Sun Care Cream, £21.00, Sun Care Oil Spray £19.50
And after a long hard day sunbathing, its vital that you use the correct aftersun care. The Clarins range contains four super-repairing, replenishing and soothing after sun products for face and body, each with a specific benefit and texture. One is specifically for putting moisture back into the face and décolleté, while other benefits include an Ultra-Soothing Gel and one with added self-tan, perfect for those among us who even after two weeks in the sun struggle to go a even a shade darker!
L-R After Sun Replenishing Moisture Care for Face, £27, Ultra-Soothing Gel, £20, Self-Tanning After Sun, £20, Ultra Hydrating, £21
Since returning from my holiday, I have been using The After Sun Moisturiser with Self-Tanning to prevent my tan from fading. Going on it smells nice but after a while, I got the fake-tan biscuit smell. Its also quiet a thick texture so it takes a while to settle into the skin, but it feels luxurious and hydrating.
