Luxury jeweller, Goldsmiths, has undergone a stunning £800k refurbishment programme at one of its most popular show rooms, located on the lower floor of Manchester’s intu Trafford Centre. Doors have been closed temporarily for refurbishment throughout May and June and reopened this week with a glittering launch party, attended by Coronation Street favourite Cath Tyldesley.
Cath dazzled the guests, which included families of the staff and loyal customers, in a bespoke Goldsmiths Golden Gown designed by Nadine Merabi. Craig Bolton, Goldsmiths Executive Director also revealed that the dress would be auctioned after the event to raise money for mental health charity, Mind.
The new-look store is around a third bigger than the original, and combines a fresh, contemporary interior, with timeless, decadent statement pieces such as stunning crystal chandeliers.
The refreshed interior includes a brand new Rolex Room, complete with two sumptuous seating areas. Additional seating and a branded area is also being created for luxury watch brand, Breitling, as well as a new dedicated Goldsmiths services area.
In addition to its wide range of premium brands such as Cartier, TAG Heuer and Raymond Weil, new luxury collections from Fope, Ponte Vecchio and Georg Jensen, have been introduced as part of the re-launch.
The store currently attracts over 10,000 customers per year, a number that is expected to rise by around a quarter with an anticipated additional 2,400 customers as a result of the expansion and refurbishment investment.
Nikki Cartwright, Head of Marketing for Goldsmiths, said: “This is a very exciting time for us at Goldsmiths in Manchester. The intu Trafford Centre refurbishment will not only offer more comfortable and spacious surroundings for our customers, but also enables us to showcase some of our most sought-after brands, such as Rolex, in a dedicated, specialist setting. We’re confident our customers will love the new-look interior and extended jewellery collections.”
As a thank you on the night, guests were treated to an personalised engraved bracelet to take home and remember the evening.
Craig also assured us that their fridge is always full of champagne, so if you’re looking for that special watch or the perfect diamond, visit Goldsmiths at intu Trafford Centre!
