Feminist fashion has seen something of a resurgence as of late, particularly through the expressionist slogans donning T Shirts. Women championing women is the agenda and creating aesthetics for men on the back burner.

Feminist Fashion Resurgence
Dior incorporated feminist slogan into their Paris week show, with T Shirts sporting the message ‘We Should All Be Feminists’ and it seems the unifying theme of girl power has filtered it’s way through to the high street and fast fashion scene accordingly.
It’s not exactly a new agenda, from the countless acts of women striving for equality over the decades, fighting for our right to vote and have the same opportunities as men, right through to the Spice Girls who spread the word of girl power to a whole new generation, the recognition of women is a recurring issue which quite rightly keeps being pushed.
What is Girl Power?
Quite like the definition of feminist, translation varies according to the individual but the overarching message to convey is that women are powerful and should not be underestimated.
There is no one size fits all lifestyle rule for adhering to feminist values, you can take from it what you may to different degrees. The most important part is that women should be viewed on par with male counterparts, paid the same, treated the same and respected the same regardless of anything else.
Female Empowering Fashion
There is always the age old debate of how women dress and why. Do women dress for the acknowledgement and attention of women or men? This question can differ in answer dependant on individual answer.
The real agenda should not be who we are dressing to please but are we dressing in a way that makes ourselves happy? Forget appeasing dress codes and conventions, the art of fashion is in the eye of the beholder. We all have separate personalities and with that separate aesthetics should come with.
