Steeped in heritage, Country Attire has roots dating back centuries, however as an individual brand recently celebrated it’s 10 Year Anniversary and invited press and bloggers alike to Propertea Rooms in Manchester to celebrate appropriately.
Hosting an afternoon tea party to showcase it’s new collection and shout about 10 Years of success, the brand ensured guests were kept entertained, informed and most importantly well fed throughout the evening. We were given a brief overview of the company history, which has remained a family run business since the beginning, informing us of what Country Attire represents as a brand and who they aim to serve.
Allocating all guests a glass of Prosecco, set of food and unlimited tea (in all flavours imaginable), extra care was taken to ensure all dietary requirements were met; catering to kosher, gluten free, non-dairy and vegetarian requests in addition to the standard menu. Propertea rooms not only delivered, but impressed with a versatile selection of foods to accommodate all diets and needs.
We sampled the standard set; which included a range of cakes, meringue, finger sandwiches and an amazing heart shaped scone which came complete with jam and cream and tasted delicious. The only issue we faced was how to finish it all in one sitting, luckily the Tearoom allows take-out boxes so you can continue to indulge post-event.
After being fed and watered, we took a look at the AW hero pieces from Country Attire, featuring some of the sites most popular brands including Ted Baker, Vivienne Westwood, Barbour, Hunter and Cambridge Satchel.
Surveying the crowd, it was clear certain pieces proved more popular, with the Vivienne Westwood Bluette Clutch and Cambridge Satchel Poppy Backpack attracting many adorning fans who found themselves tempted to rush home and shop these key seasonal pieces.
The main styles showcased gave a capsule glimpse into what Country Attire can offer its customers and styles were specially chosen to cater to the majority female, under-30 audience in attendance. Reviewing the brands website shows further variety to adhere to shopping needs of more diverse gender and age preferences.
Coats were offered to try on to give us inspiration for when the colder season arrives (winter is coming and all of that). Best brands Barbour, Joules and Ted Baker set the bar high for our next season aspirations with classic structures that had us wanting to shop immediately.
The Ted Baker Aurore Coat was a personal favourite of ours, offering a sleek silhouette in an ever-popular camel hue, with the Joules Coast Jacket coming a close second with adorable Yellow and Nautical Striped clash which works so well. For Country Attire’s biggest brand Barbour, we were coveting the classic Beadnell and the men in attendance all had the general consensus to lust after the Hooded Bedale in Olive.
After browsing our future collection, competitions were offered, with a gold mystery envelope being handed out which contained either a discount code or a item from the website, with the main prize being a pair of Sorel boots (which are a popular style of the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton).
Social competitions were also running at the event, with guest encouraged to share their favourite pieces with the #MyCountryAttire, of which the best 2 would win either a Bellroy Wallet or Country Attire Waxed Jacket. The team had also created an exclusive Snapchat filter which could be used within the vicinity of the venue for the 2 hours of the blogger event.
