From King Street to the Cathedral this summer, the streets of Manchester city centre will be transformed into an urban gardening utopia. Beginning on the 3rd of August and ending on the 11th, visitors to the Dig the City Urban Gardening Festival can expect an array of flower displays, food markets stocked with local produce, inspirational show gardens, a specially commissioned sculpture unveiling from renowned artist Jason Hackenwerth and workshops lead by some of the U.K’s leading horticulturists Monty Don, Matt James and Rachel de Thame.
That’s not all though. Some of our favourite high street retailers will also be involved in the festivities. Expect to see in-store master classes and beauty events at Selfridges and Lush, as well as a garden party at Molton Brown! For all you foodies out there, an exclusive Dig the City dinner will be taking place at Harvey Nichol’s Second Floor Restaurant. On the menu will be a four course ‘gardening inspired’ meal, by culinary experts Head Chef Mary- Ellen Mc Tague and Michelin starred Chef Lisa Allen, making this a dining experience not to be missed.
