With 1.4 million YouTube subscribers and 791K Instagram followers, Fleur De Force has now teamed up with MAC cosmetics to release a limited edition lipstick as part of their first ever beauty influencers collection.
The custom lipstick hue created by Fleur is a cool beige shade with a Cremesheen finish and is already completely sold out online. Style Etc were invited to Selfridges at the Trafford Centre in Manchester for an evening of style tips, beauty must-haves and a Q&A session with Fleur.
MAC X FLEUR DE FORCE
With cocktails, prosecco and macarons upon arrival, we headed over to the MAC make-up artists for our very own make-over using Fleur’s beauty must-haves and the MACxFleurDeForce lipstick. The interesting thing about the cool beige shade is when paired with different MAC lip liners, the shade completely transforms.
Our Chief Editor, Leanne had Spice lip liner paired with the MACxFleurDeForce lipstick which brought out pink and cinnamon tones. Emma’s lipstick was paired with Soar lip liner which accentuated the mid-tone pinkish brown hues. After we had the lip liners and lipstick combo which best suited our complexions, we took our seats for the Q&A session with Fleur and Steph (PR and Fashion Relations Director for Mac Cosmetics). A top end MUA was on hand to talk through the looks created with the Fleur DeForce shade.
Q&A WITH FLEUR
The Q&A opened with Steph asking Fleur what her beauty must-haves are along with some beauty tips. Fleur’s original favourite eye shadow was the intense black pigmented powder Carbon where she learned to do the perfect smokey eye after much practice and many YouTube tutorials.
Fleur’s current favourite eye shadow is Sumptuous Olive which is a khaki with pearl shimmer. For eyeliner her staple has always been the kohl power eye pencil in Feline and for mascara Upward Lash. With the MACxFleurDeForce lipstick hand crafted by Fleur in Toronto, we know what her favourite nude shade would be but Fleur’s favourite red lipstick is the ever popular Ruby Woo.
With the topic around lipsticks, an audience member raised a question for Fleur’s favourite “bottom of the bag” lipsticks. The ones you can just throw in there and use without thinking. Our favourite is Velvet Teddy, Fleur chose Syrup and the MAC make-up artists that we spoke to opted for Modesty.
All MAC artists we saw opted for a transitional neutral tone which can be easily worn for a day and night look. With that in mind the demonstrating lead MUA of MAC began a live make up demonstration and masterclass for a casual summer look and night out party look using the MACxFleurDeForce lipstick.
The casual summer look has a dewy base, Sumptuous Olive on the eyes blended with tea stain from the Semi-Sweet Times Nine palette. Lots of bronzer was applied in the shade Delicate for a light sun burn effect and the look was finished off with a nude lip liner and the MACxFleurDeForce lipstick.
Fleur’s lipstick was also be used in a night out party look by combining it with the lip liner Spice. For the eyes, the MAC expert used the Feline kohl eye pencil, Sable eye shadow from Fleur’s beauty must-have’s combined with Carbon and light gold tones. To finish off the look the MUA blotted the oil stick on with the heel of his palm across the models cheekbones and finished off with a strobe of highlight.
The MacxFleurDeForce lipstick is sadly already sold out online at Selfridges and MAC cosmetics and they are selling out quickly in stores. If you can’t get hold of the moisturising cool beige shade by Fleur, you can always try out the carefully curated MAC looks above by opting for another transitional MAC lipstick to take you from day to night. If you can get your hands on this limited edition lipstick, you might even find it at the bottom of your bag replacing that old favourite nude shade. As for us, we can’t wait to see what’s next for Fleur.
