Manchester Fashion Week (MCRFW) have announced the appointment of Kirsty Attwood as the venture’s new Head of Fashion.
Kirsty joins MCRFW from NET-A-PORTER.COM and brings with her a decade of experience working with luxury brands and high profile clientele around the world.
Kirsty’s creative approach and vision to a life in fashion has seen her career evolve through many areas of the industry. Prior to her role at net-a-porter, Kirsty worked as styling manager at Selfridges and was responsible for their Studio Services department launch in London. Having also explored the design pathway herself (her label KirstiMairie exhibited twice at LFW) Kirsty is well-placed to understand the challenges facing the designers she will be supporting through her work with MCRFW.
A background spanning design, sales, management and business has honed Kirsty’s ability to develop strategies to move business forward to new levels. Kirsty plans to use her experience to ensure MCRFW is cemented as an integral part of the fashion industry events calendar:
“The inspiration behind MCRFW offers a great foundation to this company’s structure. MCRFW has huge potential to make an integral and impact-full contribution to the industry as a whole. Over the next year I hope to build relationships to not only further establish the industry professionals based in the north, but also give a platform to new talent”
MCRFW 2013 will take place on April 22nd-26th at the National Football Museum.
The iconic Urbis building will be transformed into a must-visit hot spot, hosting 30 fashion shows and 15 exhibition spaces throughout the 5-day event.
This year will see MCRFW house its usual extravaganza of fashion catwalk and shopping with the addition of a few surprises from the MCRFW team.
