Join a popular festive tradition as Christmas at Dunham: The illuminated trail through festive gardens returns for its seventh year on Friday, November 17. The enchanting outdoor trail starts its six-week journey at the stunning National Trust property, but hurry, tickets are going fast.
Georgie Lofthouse, general manager at Dunham Massey, said: “Our magical trail is a firm family favourite and the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Why not start your festive season in style and be one of the first to see our fantastic new installations for 2023?”
New trail features for 2023 include Herbum by TILT, a large-scale sculpture that resembles a bunch of wild glowing grass with its red and green strands and bright blue tips bursting like a volcanic explosion.
Another new installation is the spectacular mushroom-inspired Mycelium, by Stevie Thompson of Custom Fibre Optics, while there are three innovations from UK-based technical and creative studio ArtAV – Pixel Banners, Star Arch Walk and Pixel Tree.
Explore Studio Vertigo’s massive silver star, Nova, wrapped in mist as if it just landed from the sky; and Aether and Hemera’s Voyage, a fleet of hundreds of colour-changing, floating origami folded boats.
Along the trail, independent street food vendors offer a delicious twist with yummy treats on sale. Finish your walk under the stars with a spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate shared with friends and family.
Everyone enjoys roasting a marshmallow over an open fire and the artisan *marshmallow stall lets visitors have the opportunity to warm their hands and savour this sweet outdoor tradition.
November dates still have some spots left for off-peak time slots, where adult tickets begin from £19 and £12.50 for children aged 3-16. Infants aged 2 and under get in free. A family ticket during off-peak times is a reasonable £60. Off-peak slots begin as early as 6pm on some nights – check the website for more details (see below).
Off-peak tickets are ideal for families with older children and for friends and partners who can appreciate the beautiful installations and synchronised soundtrack on a more peaceful late-evening trail.
Standard tickets are also great value at £22.50 for adults and £14.50 for children and those time slots start as early as 5.15pm on some dates, after the peak time slots are over. National Trust members can also park for free if tickets are booked before the day of their visit.
