The Trafford Centre is celebrating Wimbledon fortnight by exclusively offering the world’s most expensive strawberries and cream – costing a whopping £450 a bowl!
Served in an exquisite Jasper Conran crystal bowl, the dessert features a vintage champagne mousse and a special recipe created by the chefs at Circle 360 champagne bar. Accompanied by delicious mandarin ice cream, a brandy snap basket for texture and of course perfectly ripe strawberries handpicked from Cheshire, the dish is available from July 2nd.
The champagne mousse is made from the delicious Pommery Cuvee Louise 1999. This prestigious Pommery Champagne has matured for 10 years or more, and costs a staggering £750 per bottle. It offers a pure, silky taste with a long, clean finish.
Due to the unique and rare ingredients, each exclusive Circle 360 strawberries and cream dessert costs a total of £450, making this very British dessert one of the most expensive in the world. As a memorabilia of this delicious desert the delicate £160 crystal bowl can be kept and treasured forever.
Norris Panton the bar owner of Circle 360 said, “Strawberries and cream are the Wimbledon fans favourite sweet, so we thought it would be a great idea to introduce this exclusively to our menu. It might be the world’s most expensive strawberries and cream, but it is definitely worth the money. It’s delicious!”
Gordon McKinnon, director of operations at The Trafford Centre added, “It’s always good when our retailers try something different such as this. I was lucky enough to try this extra special dish and it is amazing! The perfect excuse to come and watch the Wimbledon finals here on the big screen.”
So get your savings at the ready Manchester! We’ll see you down at the Trafford Centre for this gastronomical delight… just hope we don’t get distracted by the latest must-haves and go on a bender spree in Selfridges!
