On a wet and windy night, Cheshire boutique, Bottega, and local accessories designer, Cleo B, gave their customers a chance to escape the gloom of the weather and plan for their Summer holidays with an evening of fabulous fashion in Bolesworth castle. Not only was it a chance for us to sample some of the best fashion Cheshire has to offer but it also gave us the opportunity to learn about and support local charity, Claire House Children’s Hospice.
The theme of the night was Studio 54, Bianca Jagger and excess. Colour and glitz were the key elements on the catwalk with not one dull look hitting the runaway. Bottega treated us to some fantastic, wearable, yet far from boring, looks which included some of our favourite summer brands such as Elizabeth and James. Cheshire swimwear boutique, Rumpus Resort also got involved and left us dreaming of luxurious holidays abroad wearing Missoni (now we just have to work on getting bodies like the models). There were seventies references galore (with a few original pieces thrown in) but definitely more retro glamour than vintage granny.
Cleo B’s shoe collection added a quirkiness to the evening. This Cheshire based designer, famed for her pom-pom shoes, is a favourite of Paloma Faith and Jessie J. Her unique designs were definitely the talking point of the evening, with heels in the shape of tapes and colours that would add ‘va va voom’ to any outfit.
The evening ended with a bit of shopping and with 10% of every sale going to charity it was guilt free! So, after a night of fantastic fun, we left for Manchester on a high, singing 70’s classics the whole way home with a boot full of purchases that we couldn’t resist.
Claire House is a north-west based charity that provides respite, end-of-life and bereavement care for children and young adults with complex medical needs. They also work with the family, providing support and counselling for as long as it is needed.
