LONDON COLLEGE OF STYLE LAUNCHES NEW MANCHESTER CAMPUS.
The London College of Style (LCS) launched in London in January 2011 and is now the No 1. Styling educator for Editorial & Personal Styling in the UK. With an array of noteworthy success stories since the conception of the London campus, LCS has decided that the time has come to build a permanent presence in the North of England, choosing Manchester City Centre for the launch of its second UK campus location.
LCS Director’s Wendy Elsmore and Dan Blake said;
‘We are very excited about the launch of LCS in Manchester beyond London which is an obvious choice for us as the second fashion capital. We are passionate about the heart & fashion vibe of the city, & Wendy’s styling career began in Manchester as fashion expert for Granada TV’s Fashion Livetime. Fashion Styling is a big career choice now, & with Manchester & Liverpool with their own Fashion Weeks, this is a very exciting time for Manchester in positioning themselves on the fashion map. It therefore makes absolute sense to embrace & offer the same fantastic level of styling career opportunity to all prospective students in the North of England too, with LCS as the nation’s leading Styling career provider’.
LCS recognise Manchester as the second biggest fashion city and the talent its holds within the creative industries. They are hoping that this central base will attract students from the surrounding Greater Manchester areas as well as Cheshire, Liverpool, Leeds & Birmingham. The intention of the founders is to grow the campus with the same presence, success and equal career opportunity for all students as LCS London has.

Daniel Johnson, Personal Stylist
They say it takes 10,000 hours to be world class at your craft, I believe you also need some outstanding opportunities and to be in the right place at the right time too. There is such an untapped source of talent and creativity in the North of England – particularly in fashion. The London College of Style is giving that talent it’s outlet and opening that opportunity right up. Being a Northerner myself and simply having to make the trips to London when I started my career was also the thing that nearly ended my career. The regeneration of Manchester over the last 20 years or so provides the perfect home for a northern college of style to link up and unleash some outstanding individuals. Ironically I’ll be heading north to teach what London has taught me and personally, I can’t wait.
